In an announcement nobody expected at The Game Awards, Okami is getting a sequel with the original creator Hideki Kamiya returning. Don’t get too hyped just yet though, the game hasn’t yet started production.

Many will likely recognise the game’s visuals. The original game was released in 2006 on the Playstation 2. The game combines folklore and mythology as you quest across classical Japan. Known for it’s gorgeous cell-shaded watercolour style, the game is a visual feast so no doubt the sequel will see that same artistic focus shine through.
