Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco have revealed the first official look at upcoming RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker in a combined cinematic trailer and gameplay trailer.
Watch the trailer:
First teased almost exactly one year ago, The Blood of Dawnwalker, is a single-player open-world dark fantasy action-RPG brought to you by Rebel Wolves, comprising of former CD Projekt RED developers including the director of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz.
Set in 14th-century Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who has been turned into a Dawnwalker (a vampire). He must use his skills and combine his vampiric strength and human resolve to save the ones he loves. The cinematic trailer shows Coen and his sister, Lunka, being chased and cornered by several knights before being ‘saved’ by a group of Dawnwalkers in a gore-heavy fashion.
While not much is revealed about the gameplay itself, the game looks to share some DNA with The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, with Rebel Wolves previously stating that the studio was created so they could create “the RPG of their dreams.” Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, lead quest designer for The Witcher 3 is the Creative Director of Rebel Wolves, and if you’ve played The Witcher 3, you know the quests and the stories told within are some of the best we’ve seen in an RPG, ever.
The end of the trailer reveals that we will get a more in-depth look at the game Winter this year (or Summer for you northern hemispherers).
