Square Enix has quietly announced that, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, the upcoming GPS based Action RPG for iOS and Android has been cancelled.

The official Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link X account posted the announcement earlier today, stating “Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development.”
The game was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts IV back in 2022, with the development team insisting that the Kingdom Hearts series will continue and that they are hard at work on Kingdom Hearts IV.

Here’s how Square Enix described the game when it was first revealed:
“An all-new game for iOS and Android devices, which allows players to embark on adventures from the realm of Scala ad Caelum into the real world. Players will be able to engage in exhilarating battles against the Heartless and discover a new, original story.”
Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development with no release date.
