The Australia Plays report for 2025 has been published by IGEA and Bond University, a report that has captured the trends of Australian video game players for the last 20 years. This year’s study has shows that more females are gaming than ever before at 51%, surpassing males (49%) for the first time in the study.
Professor Jeffrey Brand, author of the report, said “The purpose of this research has been to provide evidence and encourage conversation about who among us plays video games, why we play, how we play and what we think of this dynamic and often breathtaking medium”.
