Metroidvania’s have gotten a lot of attention lately, yet Solateria has already earned my attention. Blending stunning hand-drawn art with parry focused gameplay, this one looks deceptively challenging. Launching in March, the game has a demo available ahead of the latest Steam Next Fest in February 2026.
Solateria is a hand-drawn action Metroidvania with parry-focused combat. A small fire warrior journeys to find the Primordial Flame, the world’s last hope against the Shadow Plague. Defeat foes with stylish parries and explore mysterious realms to uncover the world’s secrets.
With a demo out now ahead of Steam Next Fest, Solateria is definitely worth checking out ahead of its March 12 release on Steam. Studio Doodal’s last game Lapin is a stunning platformer featuring that same defined hand-drawn style only a lot more on the cozy side. As vibes go it’s a tender gem about a brave group of rabbit explorers seeking a new home after humans force them out of their home.
While Salateria is a departure from that more cozy vibe of Lapin, nonetheless the visuals look impressive. There are also plans to bring it to Nintendo Switch in the future.

If you’re eager to play Solateria you can find the demo on Steam before the full game arrives on March 12.
