‘Tis the season to be jolly! Oz Comic-Con Xmas Edition is pulling it’s sleigh into Melbourne once more. On December 6 and 7 the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition centre will come alive with the usual nerd flair – from the artist alley, to panels, performances, scavenger hunts, and cosplayers galore, all with a festive twist!
Hopefully, you’ve been good this year because there’s at least one more nerd-focused event on the calendar. Oz Comic-Con Xmas Edition features the usual convention staples, only with a festive spin. In previous years I’ve found the Xmas Edition to be a good chance to pick up those niche gifts, with the artist alley being a gold mine. Other highlights include the many festive activities such as scavenger hunts, side quests, bingo, and even Christmas-themed D&D one-shot campaigns.
Maybe you’re a cosplayer who wants a photo with Santa, or you’re looking for a festive outing with your friends – it’s a decent offering featuring the usual buster of a convention like panels, meet-ups, a gaming zone, and even a tabletop library of games you can enjoy. There will also be a Magic: The Gathering – Learn to Play space if you’re looking to try something new.
