Amazon Prime has revealed a first look at Sophie Turner’s wardrobe test for the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider reboot series, where Turner will be playing Lara Croft.
The series was greenlit in May of 2024, with creator/writer/executive producer and co-showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) at the helm. Confirmed to be starring alongside Turner are names such as Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Martin Bobb-Semple.
With their absence in Alicia Vikander’s portrayal in Rise of the Tomb Raider, I am happy to share that Lara’s iconic Raider Specs have been returned to us! Turner’s whole ensemble looks fantastic, giving fans hope that the series will be faithful to the franchise.
Turner joins an impressive line-up of talented actresses that have portrayed the athletic Archaeologist in person, including Angelina Jolie and, most recently in 2018, Alicia Vikander. We don’t yet have a confirmed release date for the Amazon Studio’s new adaptation but here’s hoping it’s worth the wait!
