During last night’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, a new Donkey Kong game was announced. Donkey Kong Bananza sees players diving into a 3D platforming game with dynamic worlds to smash through. Get a look at the trailer below!
While eager fans did catch a look at Donkey Kong’s new look in a teaser from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct announcement, this wasn’t the reveal I was expecting. Donkey Kong returns in this one, exploring the depths of the Underground World one punch at a time. Already, we’ve seen just how reactive some of the game locations are as DK smashes his way through a horde of biomes.
Sadly, Donkey Kong Bananaza isn’t a launch title on the Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s not far off! The game launches on July 17, 2025.
