After four years in development, funded by a Kickstarter that raised over $1.3 million, cozy viral hit Loftia has finally dropped a release date. During last night’s PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct, Australian indie dev team Qloud Games revealed that Loftia is coming to early access November 3 on PC.
Unlike your usual MMO, Loftia prioritises cooperative goals and shared progress rather than fighting and battling. The world is all about players living together and making the world better through collaborative challenges that include puzzle solving, exploration and platforming.
Community feedback has also played a massive part in making the game and shaping it initially through social media, then a Discord server and finally a Closed Beta earlier this year that gave 25,000 players the chance to test the game.
“Our Beta playtests were an incredible milestone for us and gave us confidence that the core
systems and experiences we’d been building were working as we hoped. Since then, we’ve
added even more features and content, while continuing to refine the parts of the game where
our players gave us the most valuable feedback,” says Martina Qin, Co-Founder and Creative
Director of Qloud Games. “Now, we’re finally ready to welcome our entire community into
Loftia’s cozy world. There is still so much more we want to build, and we’re excited to have our
players alongside us as the world continues to grow.”
