After four years in development, funded by a Kickstarter that raised over $1.3 Million cozy viral hit Loftia has finally dropped a release date. During last nights PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct, Australian dev indie dev team Qloud Games revealed that Loftia is coming to early access November 3 on PC.
Unlike your usual MMO, Loftia prioritises cooperation and shared progress rather than lighting and battling. The world is all about players living together and making the world better through collaborative challenges that include puzzle solving, exploration and platforming.
Community feedback has also played a massive big part in making the game and shaping it initially through social media, then a Discord server and finally a Closed Beta earlier this year that gave 25,000 players the chance to test the game.
“Loftia started as a small dream. We wanted a relaxing online world we could escape to with our
friends – a third space with a welcoming community, things to do, and a home we could keep on
coming back to,” says Michael Su, Co-Founder and Studio Director of Qloud Games. “What
we never expected was how many people around the world were looking for the same thing.
Loftia has grown alongside our community from the very beginning, and reaching Early Access
feels like the culmination of a four-year marathon, and the beginning of a new chapter.”
