Rest ye head weary sailor. New Zealand’s own Black Salt Games is cooking up something new, and it’s not Dredge 2. While we don’t yet know much about what their next game will be, the new project will be exploring a brand new world as teased via the studios social media.
Dredge sure took the world of indie games by storm after it’s release in 2023. Praised for it’s sinister take on inventory management, the feast of Lovecraftian finds and adventures is one tense fishing trip! Since it’s launch the Black Salt Games and also released two follow-up DLC’s along with further customisation features, a photo mode and even passive mode. While I’m a bit remiss to see them moving on – and not on onto Dredge 2 ether, I do feel a sense of excitement bubbling away for what they do next.
Along with the game announcement, they also revealed a second studio: Disc 2 Games. The new studio will be working on their own projects independent to Black Salt Games.
Seeing such a talented team supporting a new studio thanks to their own success is exciting indeed. More details about Disc 2 Games first project will be revealed later this year. Expect bright, colourful, and 90’s retro vibes!
