CD PROJEKT RED has revealed new The Witcher 4 gameplay during the State of Unreal 2025 showcase in the form of a Unreal Engine 5.6 tech demo.
The Witcher 4, first announced at The Game Awards last year, follows our new yet familiar main protagonist, Ciri, in a new era for the series.
While the 10-minute portion of the video is predominantly more of a tech demo for developers showcasing the power of Unreal Engine 5.6, there is plenty of The Witcher 4 gameplay for fans to ogle over.
In the demo, we see Ciri in the region of Kovir, heading back to the port town of Valdrest on her horse Kelpie after gathering clues about a monster. This area of Kovir looks to be full of lush and vibrant environments full of realistic looking foliage.
Joint-CEO of CD PROJEKT RED, Michal Nowakowski said:
“We started our partnership with Epic Games to push open-world game technology forward. To show this early look at the work we’ve been doing using Unreal Engine running at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5, is a significant milestone — and a testament of the great cooperation between our teams. But we’re far from finished. I look forward to seeing more advancements and inspiring technology from this partnership as development of The Witcher 4 on Unreal Engine 5 continues.“
The Witcher 4 is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
