Which Way Up: Galaxy Games by Turtle Flip is a game week that we keep talking about at NextPlay, and for good reason, it’s fantastic. Last month Turtle Flip announced they were launching a Kickstarter campaign to add additional features and functionalities to the game which is scheduled for release early next year. Several weeks (and conventions) later, the Kickstarter campaign has officially gone live!
WHY WE LOVE WHICH WAY UP: GALAXY GAMES
In our Preview earlier this year, I said that “[Which Way Up: Galaxy Games] is going to be loved and adored over many family game nights to come.”

The NextPlay team was fortunate enough to check out Which Way Up: Galaxy Games at PAX Australia, and it delivered some of the most fun gameplay I experienced across the entire show. Our gameplay session featured four players, creating a hectic and chaotic scene, but across the entire demo there was one persistent theme: fun. With a delightful yet simplistic art style, each unique character looks adorable. Well, that is until they chase after you while holding a timed explosive device.
It delivered the chaotic enjoyment found within Mario Party mini-games. Whether chasing your opponents with an explosive device in Overload, trying to capture a moving location in Star Ring, or trying to outrun a deadly black hole in Event Horizon, Which Way Up has a bounty of fun mini-games to enjoy.
It’s challenging to find yourself completely immersed in a video game when playing on a crowded show floor, but Which Way Up: Galaxy Games provided so much joy that I found myself immersed in the entertainment on screen. When we finished our Which Way Up: Galaxy Games session, I wanted to play more. That’s when you know a video game is going to be something special.
BACK THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
The Kickstarter campaign is now live! Backing the game will give Turtle Flip the opportunity to add more features to the game, like online multiplayer, additional languages, additional platforms and more.
