Sea shanties are nothing new for Assassin’s Creed after Black Flag, yet the remake is not holding back for this one. While the game is still a little over a month away, Woodkid on a trailer has me desperate to take up the hidden blades again. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced looks epic, refreshing the original game and even making some design changes to ensure it’s a pirate’s life, through and through.
Honestly, I’m sat for anything Woodkid and his vocals on a game trailer really pitches the hype. It’s also not Woodkid’s first time being featured on an Assassin’s Creed trailer. Both Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Unity set the scene with some of the artist’s most epic bangers.
“Leave Her Johnny” captures that eerie note of a buccaneer’s life on the open seas, showing Edward’s adventures with those signature brooding Woodkid vocals in a special resynced edition of the track.

Woodkid AKA Yoann Lemoine said:
“The world of Assassin’s Creed has been very important to me and is very linked to my career. I know Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is a major episode for the audience. It’s a game about escapism, rebellion, and exploration. These are themes that are very important for my work. I’m very excited about what we’ve done.”
At this point, I’d like a Woodkid track for every game, if not multiple!
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced arrives July 9, 2026, on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
