It’s hard to believe PAX Aus 2026 is almost here again, yet with August now upon us it will be here before we know it! And it definitely wouldn’t be PAX without a feast of board games, TCGs, tournaments, roleplay and miniature painting, now would it? Ebay once again returns, sponsoring the epic Tabletop Hall, and there’s plenty of new games coming to demo and deals to be had.
So what’s so exciting about the Tabletop Hall in 2026? Well, the standout for me is the appearance of the Cyberpunk TCG that recently obliderated it’s goals on Kickstarter, raising over $15 million in presales. PAX Aus will feature learn-to-play sessions and even tournaments.
Other highlights from the Tabletop Halls program include:
After its epic debut last year, Riftbound is of course returning now with a few more sets featuring iconic Champs! Eager players will be able to join hands-on demos. There’s no confirmation of any promo cards yet, however.
MTG is of course, also going to be out in force with WOTC showing the latest set, Reality Fracture. The show will feature a Learn to Play area, special play events, a Magic: The Gathering shop, guest artists, and meet & greets. There’s also the creator showdown on Saturday in the Main Theatre featuring international and Australian MTG creators.
WOTC will also have a special Dungeons & Dragons area with a store loaded with the latest goodies for every DnD party’s roleplay needs!
Lorcana will of course, also be returning as well, along with some of Modern Brands’ other games and collectables.
Anime tcg fiends are also getting their share as well. Attendees will be able to learn and play the One Piece Card Game, the Dragon Ball Super Card Game
Fusion World, the Digimon Card Game and the Gundam Card Game. There will also be tournaments for seasoned players.
Visitors can also enjoy hands-on demos of LEGO® NINJAGO®, K-Pop Demon Hunters: Battle for the Spotlight and the new horror trading card game Hellbreak, while scheduled tournaments for Hellbreak (Friday) and Star Wars™: Unlimited (Saturday) will give players the chance to compete.
And for the Board Game sickos, there will also be plenty of new release games on sale and available to demo during the convention. Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds, Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Hunted, Exploding Kittens: Curse You. Let’s also not forget the indie board games that will also be appearing in the Tabletop Hall and Indie Rising.
