Earlier this month, MintRocket announced a Dave the Diver DLC collaboration with the Yakuza series during PlayStation’s State of Play titled Dave the Diver: Ichiban’s Holiday. The DLC, which is coming this April, adds a few new and interesting game modes featuring iconic characters from the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series.
Initially, Dave The Diver stepped into the indie scene with an amazing reception. You can read our review of it here. Since its release, MintRocket has been collaborating with many popular and fun franchises to create neat DLCs like Godzilla, DREDGE, and more.
In Ichiban’s Holiday, you follow Ichiban Kasuga on his “holiday” at the Blue Hole. At the beginning of the campaign, he is seen fighting off malevolent pirates as Dave watches. This then leads to Dave teaming up with Ichi to fend off pirates in the sea.
Not only is Dave involved, but Cobra is, too. Alongside Ichiban, Cobra also fights off pirates in a 2.5D side scroller with beat-em-up with RPG elements.
Above all, there is plenty of curiosity about the potential of this DLC that will be revealed in April. One scene with Bancho could possibly mean there will be new fish (which was a great feature in the Dredge DLC) that may be able to be crafted into new recipes.
