Winter is coming, again. While many might still be recovering from season eight of Game of Thrones, it’s looking like eager fans will have the chance to return to Westeros once more. Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad sees players exploring the lands alongside their favourite characters from the series in a new action adventure. Developer Netmarble revealed the game at The Game Awards.
Here’s the reveal trailer:
In the trailer, we catch glimpses of many fan-favourite characters, including Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and Jamie Lannister among others. The game is set after the death of Robert Baratheon and the Red Wedding, players join house Tyre. Knowing that winter is coming, and with it the white walkers, you’ll have to convince nobles of the threat as you venture across Westeros.
The game features 3 classes – Knight, Sellsword and Assassin with each drawing from different parts of the lore. Players will engage in dynamic, skill-driven manual combat placing you at the heart of every battle.
While I’m excited about any new Game of Thrones games, a mobile game seems a little underwhelming given how expansive the story of George R. R. Martin’s series is. With the success of multiple television adaptations, it feels like the world is ripe for a game franchise filled with familiar characters in that Witcher/Skyrim vein.
GAME OF THRONES: KINGSROAD RELEASE DATE:
Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad will be released sometime in 2025 on mobile.
