Last week Logitech G unveiled the next era in it’s gaming peripheral line and it’s fair to say there was something for everyone. From headsets to a racing wheels, the next era in hardware coming out of Logitech G is definitely one to watch.
Daniel Hall, Senior Category Manager at Logitech G ANZ said “We’re proud to bring Logitech G Play to Melbourne, shining a light on the creativity, competition and community that define modern gaming. This event is about more than product; it’s about celebrating the joy of play and the people who power the gaming movement.”
Recently, we were invited to a special Logitech ANZ G PLAY event at Fortress to celebrate the new range and even get hand-on with some of the new gear. We even got to check out an esports tournament on the following day with two local esports teams competing in a Siege X competition.
It’s a ripper line-up of gaming peripherals, with many new innovations among the line-up. The stand-out from the presentation was the Logitech G Superstrike gaming mouse. Being the first of it’s kind, the mouse features inductive triggers instead of switches. Superstrike is a game changer allowing for full imersion and deeper customisation through the Logitech G Hub software.

Interview with Daniel Hall, Senior Category Manager at Logitech G ANZ
Thanks to Logitech G ANZ we were able to attended a one-on-one session with Daniel Hall to find out more about the range and how they collaborate with esports players on the frontlines of play.
So what is the Logitech G Play presentation?
Daniel: Every year Logitech holds a global play event. It’s our keynote to the world, and this year we held it in Madrid. We also had some satellite events in different countries, and we were lucky enough to have one here in Melbourne. It was about celebrating play, and also some big breakthroughs that we had in play. This year our theme was breakthroughs in play. We had some exciting new partnerships that we launched, as well as eight new products. That event last night was a chance for people to come and experience those, try them, and also network with some of the industry.
It was a huge line-up of gear! Would you mind expanding on that?
I’ll go through them. On the headset side, we launched the new Pro X 2 headset, the McLaren edition as well. We also launched the Astro A20X, our wireless console headset. We launched the Pro X Superlight 2 Compact. We launched the RS50 racing wheel and pedals, which is a brand new racing wheel that sits in between our entry level and our pro level. And then the Superstrike mouse.
Racing wheels always fascinated me – it’s a lot more than just Mario Kart style driving, right?
We like to think about it as blurring the line between virtual and real. When you get in one of those racing seats and sit down with a racing wheel, like the one we launched last night, the Pro Racing Wheel, it’s got the exact same steering wheel you would expect to see in a Formula One car, and then you’ve got the pedals as well. When you put yourself in one of those racing sims, the simulation is so realistic that you feel like you are in the car. Max Verstappen actually uses those same kinds of setups to practice. It really does blur that line.

How does Logitech G collaborate with gamers to make new hardware?
We call it designed by collaboration. We go out and work with esports pros all around the world. We also work with sim racers, and we get them into our labs to test products with them. We’ll give them different shapes, sizes, and weights, and get feedback. Then we go away and iterate, and come back and test again. We also collect data. We look at how they’re using the products, what kind of inputs they’re putting in, what kind of strain is on their hands, what they’re doing in game. We use all that data to design the products. It’s really about collaboration with those pros, and then that flows down to the everyday gamer. It’s a little bit like Formula One. In Formula One, they develop technology, and that technology ends up in road cars. It’s the same with us. We develop technology for the pros, and that ends up in the products that everyone can buy.
Do consumers tend to buy what esports players are using?
Of course. People want to be like the best. If they see a pro player using a certain mouse or keyboard, they want to use the same thing. There’s a really cool website called ProSettings.net, and it shows what all the pros are using. It even shows their in-game settings, so you can go and copy exactly what they’re doing.
Can you tell me more about the Superstrike gaming mouse?
That one is really unique. We’ve developed a brand new technology, the world’s first haptic inductive trigger system. When you click the mouse, instead of having a mechanical click, it’s an inductive sensor that uses haptics. That means we can reduce the response time. We’ve got it down to nine milliseconds, which is about 30 milliseconds faster than a mechanical switch. It’s a huge breakthrough, and it really does give gamers a competitive advantage. We launched that last night and it will be coming out in Q1 next year.
Is there any idea on pricing for the Superstrike mouse?
It’s going to be around the same sort of price as what you would expect from a Superlight 2. It’s not going to be anything crazy, but definitely something that is accessible.
Is there a particular product you feel will be the one to look out for?
Definetly the Superstrike. I think that is the one. It’s really something that is going to change the game. When people get their hands on it, they’re really going to feel the difference. It’s one of those things you don’t really understand until you try it. That’s why last night was so exciting, because people could actually feel it, and you could see their reaction. It was pretty special!
Compete in the Logitech G Challenge
The other big announcement was the Logitech McLaren G Challenge, which allows players to get in on the action in an esports competition. Players can venture into participating EB Games or JB HI FI stores and show their skills in Forza Motorsport by setting the best lap time they can!
Players can also compete in Forza Motorsport online so there’s plenty of ways to compete. The faste drivers from NA, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC will advanced to the next qualifying round with the grand finals happening early 2026.
Round 1 qualifiers are on now. Interested players can find out more on the Logitech G Challenge website here.
