NextPlay Picks - November

Each month your friendly neighbourhood NextPlay team members share what games have caught their eye. We love games, and we love talking about them. So without further ado, let’s check out what the NextPlay Picks of November 2023.

Super Mario RPG

Release Date: November 17 | Developer: Nintendo | Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Nintendo Switch

“One of my most anticipated releases for November is Super Mario RPG. Now I never did play the original, but I’m very interested to see how the Mario universe adapts to a turn-based combat setting, especially since the environment and graphics of this remake are so visually stunning. I don’t play that many Mario games, but I’m quite excited to play this one.”

Bluey: The Video Game

Release Date: November 17 | Developer: Artax Games | Publisher: Outright Games
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S

“Yes I said what I said – We as a family got so excited when rumours started flying around about the Bluey video game and once it was confirmed, we raced to preorder it! I’ve played a few of these titles for kids Outright Games have published now and as a parent, I think they’re a brilliant way to introduce younger gamers to the hobby.

Bluey: The Video Game looks like it’s going to follow a similar path to the other games of its kind but I’m still so excited to share this one with my son and the other little ones in my life! Definitely one to put on the Christmas list, that’s for sure!”

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Release Date: November 9 | Developer: Ryū Ga Gotoku Studios | Publisher: Sega
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X|S

“After getting some hands on time in the Sega booth at PAX this year, I got to get my hands on Yakuza and ill be honest. I was BLOWN away. This is a true next generation Yakuza game with all the crazy combat the series is accustomed too, but add in beautiful visuals as well as new gadgets mixed with a new story outside of the normal franchise and I feel like Sega is on a winner this month with Yakuza.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Release Date: November 10 | Developer: Sledgehammer Games | Publisher: Activision
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X|S

“I’ve been a Call of Duty fan since the original Modern Warfare. The Modern Warfare series of Call of Duty games are my favourite. While I’m not expecting a huge jump in quality compared to last year’s Modern Warfare II title, I’m still extremely excited to check out the campaign of Sledgehammer Games’ latest entry to the franchise. Oh, and zombies are back?!
