Star Wars Outlaws Reveals Second Story Pack DLC Release Date And Switch 2 Details

Buckle up, space pirates – Ubisoft just revealed a bunch of details on what’s coming next for Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws at Star Wars Celebration. Kay Vess and Nix return after a high-stakes Sabacc tournament with the one and only Lando in the last DLC. Not only do we have a release date for the next story pack, following Wild Card, but it was also revealed that the game would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. There’s also a demo in the works and some free DLC for all players inspired by Star Wars Skeleton Crew.

Embark on a mysterious adventure with Kay and Nix to explore the Khepi system and learn what it takes to be a true leader. Team up with legendary pirate Hondo Ohnaka and face off against Stinger Tash and her Rokana Raiders as you infiltrate the Khepi Tomb to uncover the secrets and hidden treasures it holds. Along the way, you’ll discover the Miyuki Trade League who offer new rewards for the Trailblazer in exchange for smuggling dangerous goods across the galaxy.

If you know your Star Wars, it’s likely Hondo Ohnaka rings a bell from his appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Wherever Ohnaka is, trouble now doubt follows with his pirate antics. The great captain might be between crews in the trailer, much like the previous DLC. We’ll see Kay Vess joining forces with him like she did with Lando in Wild Card.

Players looking to dip into the next Star Wars Outlaws adventure don’t have long to wait. The second story pack will be available May 15 alongside a Title Update. Players must complete the main story in the base game to access the DLC. Owners of the season pass are all set, or it can be purchased separately on respective platforms.

Alongside the title update on May 15, all players will be gifted a free cosmetics set based off Star Wars: Skeleton Crew for Nix and Kay’s speeder. The cosmetics will appear after the update on May 15 in the delivery crate on the Trailblazer.

If you’re a fan of Star Wars but haven’t tried out Outlaws, there’s also a free demo for the game available now on Ubisoft+, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Steam. The demo allows new players to play around 3 hours of the game and get a feel for the game. In our review of the base game, we gave Star Wars Outlaws a 9, praising its perspective on Star Wars.

We also now know when we can expect Star Wars Outlaws on the Nintendo Switch 2 after it was teased during the reveal direct. Ubisoft has announced that Kay and Nix’s adventures will be available later this year, on Sept 4. Given that the soon-to-be-released handheld supports 120 fps on a custom NVIDIA processor, it will be exciting to see how the game performs.

After significant improvements, it’s exciting to see Star Wars Outlaws is still going strong. It’s clear the new hope is that players will be able to try the demo and get a feel for what Outlaws is all about. With a port to the Switch 2 also in the works, I’m hopeful we haven’t seen the last of Kay Vess and Nix’s adventures. After all the improvements, including quality of life fixes, it seems like ideal timing to go explore the Outer Rim.

Star Wars Outlaws is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC – including Steam. There’s also a free demo available on all platforms.
