Naoe and Yasuke’s adventures aren’t over yet! Ubisoft has released the game’s first major story DLC – Claws of Awaji which sees the pair confronting the dangerous Sanzoku Ippa on the mysterious island of Awaji. Following numerous updates including quality-of-life fixes, new difficulty settings, and even New Game +, the Story DLC marks the next chapter in Shadows post launch content.
The first full DLC expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows features over 10+ hours of new gameplay in an iconic new region as players pursue mysterious shinobi. Naoe and Yasuke seek a lost treasure while avoiding ambushes and traps hidden throughout the new area.
To access the new Claws of Awaji in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players will need to have completed the main game story. The expansion pack was available with preorders or it can be purchased as a part of the Assassin’s Creed Season Pass or separately for $37.95 AUD.

Alongside the DLC, there’s plenty of new skills, weapon abilities, armor, and other gear to unlock including the new Bo Staff which is available to all players. The Bo Staff is perfect for taking down groups of enemies with fluid combos. The Claws of Awaji DLC also lets players earn a DLC exclusive legendary Bo Staff.
The DLC release follows the September 11 Title Update 1.1.1 that introduced a level cap increase, new hideout upgrades, the ability to advance the time of day, improved scouts, enhanced gear quality, and even special new Animus Hub rewards themed after Assassin’s Creed 2.
